Learn about magnetic poles by placing a magnet near the South Pole of the Horseshoe Magnet. Keeping in mind that Oposite poles attract, if the second magnet "attracts" to the South Pole of the Horseshoe Magnet then this is the North Pole of the Magnet. Turn the magnet over and see what happens. If your magnet now "repels" the Horseshoe Magnet, this side of your magnet is the South Pole.
